The first sentence in this book hooked me! "We call it naked reading in our house." This line was interesting enough to make me continue reading; for sure! What I found out was that the author's granddaughter had devised a way to get her daily reading in by reading as she air dries after the shower. This only worked because she was already an avid reader. The author uses this memory to segway into what the book is going to be about: how to make tweens lifelong readers. I picked this book because I am trying to find various ways to get my reluctant readers to read, meet their AR goals, and possibly end up becoming lifelong readers. I think if they find out what interests them, they will become lifelong learners!
